Pokemon Fire Red ReIgnited (Gameboy Advance GBA)
Pokémon FireRed Reignited (paired with LeafGreen Regrown) is a fan-made game inspired by the Legacy series (like Crystal Legacy), it aims to preserve the classic feel of the Kanto remakes while fixing mechanical frustrations and modernizing the experience through quality-of-life (QOL) updates. Note: When saving, allow the game to make a complete save. The game will pause during saving, it will be complete once you can move your character. Turning off the system before the save is complete will cause you to lose the progress.
Key Features & Quality of Life (QoL) Updates:
- Expanded Pokémon Roster: Every Pokémon from the first two generations (Kanto and Johto) is available to catch. Later updates even added wild Hoenn Pokémon in the post-game.
- Balance & Learnsets: Learnsets have been improved to include better STAB (Same-Type Attack Bonus) and coverage moves, and several base stats or move effects have been buffed.
- HM Improvements: Revised HM locations and easier management.
- Move Tutors: Reusable move tutors and move reminders are integrated.
- Evolution Changes: Modified evolution methods for trade-only Pokémon, allowing you to complete the Pokédex in single-player mode.
Post-Game & End Game Goals:
- Legendary Quests: Catching the legendary beasts (Raikou, Entei, Suicune) unlocks the Mystic Ticket for Navel Rock (Ho-oh/Lugia).
- New Battles: Fight Johto Gym Leaders and Elite Four members (like Karen and Will), as well as special "Smith/Weebra" developer battles
- Sevii Masters: Defeating the Sevii Masters grants the Aurora Ticket for Birth Island to catch Deoxys.
- Hidden Events: Includes a treasure hunt for Celebi and a final showdown against Giovanni

The game is great! However, the one annoyance I have is saving. Saving takes forever and it doesn’t sync completely with the saving dialogue text in the game. It has now happened twice where I shut off my game and lost all of the save data because the game wasn’t done saving when the text left the screen. Again, it is a great game, but be careful when saving! Be sure the game has completed the saving process before shutting off your console.
Yes, its true. You have to wait a few full seconds after performing a save in order for the save to register. Its because its using chip save versus a battery Save on the cartridge. It draws power from the system while saving. So if you shut your system off too quickly, it will not fully register the save. What I like to do is after saving, I wait till I can move my character. That indicates the save is done and its okay to turn off the system. Thanks for your feedback
