Pokemon Emerald Rogue (Gameboy Advance GBA)
Pokemon Emerald Rogue (Gameboy Advance GBA)
Pokemon Emerald Rogue is a rogue-like game. You start in a zone where there is an area called the Hub.
The Hub is where you do your things like buy items, store your Pokemon, change your team, and others. When you leave the Hub, you choose which routes you go, which are procedurally generated.
Every time you enter these routes, you can encounter different Pokemon and decide whether you want to catch them. The end goal for each adventure you do is to get a Badge.
If you don’t get the Badge, you can go back to the Hub and get stronger. Continue doing it until you get all the Badges which will take some time since the game scales in level. You can also do quests and get rewards to help you get stronger and get further in the game.
- A lot of the things are randomized (Pokemon, areas, trainers, etc)
- Character customization
- Adjust the game’s settings and other options at the Hub
- Seeded Mode available
- Mega Evolution
- Galarian Forms

When I purchased this 2 weeks ago I was excited to have a physical copy of Emerald Rogue 2.0 when I got the package in the mail and started playing, however I was disappointed to see this was the earlier version of the game, which has less Pokemon in it, way less features and way less content. The game is still a lot of fun however and I have put many hours into the game.
So you are getting Emerald Rogue, just not the latest edition. If this was 2.0 I would give a 5 star review, but since this is the older version and there wasn't any indication of this prior to my purchase I feel like I didn't get what I was paying for and thus am giving it 3 stars.
Hi - We did try the newer 2.0 patch for Pokemon Emerald Rogue months ago, but there were sporadic freezing glitches during some battle scenes. So we opted to use the more stable version. If there is a newer patch released in the future, we'll ofcourse give it another try. Thanks!
I’ve always liked things like Battle Factory and Battle Towers, the randomizer of everything brings a new aspect into the game. This game captures it perfectly and gives unique playthroughs everytime. I’ve also never had a GBA game run this smooth either. Highly recommend!
Just got a couple play sessions in with the game and it’s awesome hopefully we can get more gba games in like Pokemon Crystal Advance Redux
