Pokemon Liquid Crystal (Gameboy Advance GBA)
Pokemon Liquid Crystal (Gameboy Advance GBA)
The internal clock function is disabled for this cartridge. It will still play as normal and you can finish the game and save as normal without the internal clock function. That is just something that would work on an emulator with the proper settings, but not with the cartridge.
Pokémon Liquid Crystal has some unique features such as the ability to travel to the Orange Islands region, a never before seen region in the Pokémon games. That’s not all, we have a bunch of features waiting for you to discover while playing the game such as Berry Growing, Diving, Hidden Areas and a ton more!

Since my first review was deleted, I’m making another one and further stressing this game isn’t meant for anyone looking for the original Crystal Version. There’s Pokémon from the Ruby/Safire genre, there’s no clock at all so day-specific events won’t trigger & no nighttime, and pokeCenter healing music doesn’t play anywhere. Also union cave has zero wild Pokémon. Unacceptable. I don’t recommend this version.
Thanks for your feedback. All Pokemon Rom hacks including Pokemon Liquid Crystal have a static Real Time Clock (RTC). That detail is in the listing description. This is standard, unless an RTC enabled PCB is used. However, that would increase the price for the customer more than 3x. So we decided to keep the cost down for our customers.
Love the game but after I got 2 badges the save file was gone when I tried to load it the next day.
Print and case quality is just okay, but still similar enough to classic GBA games to be worth adding to the collection! Games run well so far. Totally worth buying at the price point!
I did see in another post that the RTC does not work and seller mentioned this is 'by design.' Does this mean that events and other map areas that need the clock to access will still be accessible via other methods? Or is it simply broken? If that's the case I would not say this is 'by design', but rather it is a design flaw. Appreciate some feedback!
This is an excellent remake of a childhood classic with plenty of interesting new additions and an increased difficulty level. No bugs, no notes, highly recommend for any nostalgic Pokémon fans
